🌿 We are proud to be working under the “Amrit DharoharScheme”, launched by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), Government of India in 2023–24. Through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model in long-term collaboration with the Government of Gujarat, we are dedicated to conserving wetlands while also supporting sustainable livelihoods and employment opportunities for local communities.
🌿 Our region represents about 21% of India’s total wetland area, covering both inland and coastal ecosystems, natural as well as man-made. We are home to four Ramsar sites and are actively engaged in their protection and restoration. Our work focuses on identifying and monitoring wetlands, maintaining their ecological health, and involving local communities to ensure their long-term conservation. At the same time, we seek to create sustainable opportunities that connect people with the protection of these valuable ecosystems.
🌿 The wetlands in our region provide immense potential for innovative and sustainable resource use. We are exploring the use of wetland biomass and agricultural residues as renewable energy sources and sustainable raw materials. With their rich and diverse plant life, wetlands can contribute significantly to eco-friendly applications such as clean energy production, which supports both conservation goals and livelihood opportunities for local communities.r long-term conservation. 🌿 Our commitment to environmental stewardship extends beyond wetland protection. We are deeply engaged in biodiversity conservation, water conservation, and natural pest management practices that preserve ecological balance and ensure resilient farming systems. By rewetting peatlands, protecting fertile soils, and promoting sustainable land use practices, we contribute to carbon storage, healthier ecosystems, and the global fight against climate change. Through these integrated efforts, we are working towards a future where people and nature thrive together in harmony.
